House Of Cards Trolls David Cameron Over Offshore Fund Admission On Twitter

Following Monday’s Panama Paper leak, House of Cards’s Frank Underwood suddenly doesn’t seem so bad compared to all the real politicians out there.

The other day some pisstaker who works on the show pulled up this tweet Cameron posted in 2015 highlighting the importance of paying your taxes:

And then summed it up with their reply:

Brutal. It’s once thing to call a politician corrupt, it’s quite another to compare them to Frank Underwood from House of Cards. That guy’s a legit psycho that no self-respecting politician wants to be compared to.

Cameron was this week forced to admit he’d benefited from offshore tax havens after Downing Street couldn’t get their story straight:

Downing Street initially insisted it was a private matter, but Cameron then said he had “no shares, no offshore trusts, no offshore funds”. His spokesman later clarified: “The prime minister, his wife and their children do not benefit from any offshore funds.

The Panama Papers leak has already resulted in the resignation of the Prime Minister of Iceland and the head of the Chilean branch of Transparency International, an anti-corruption group. Sigh…
